Moving holds for the objects in the beginning shots were too aggressive and awkward. Instead later opting for a slow space-like drift until the the device breaks apart.
To achieve a more believable "floating in space" feeling in the animation, all three rotation axes were animated, offset, and decayed for mostly every object. Combined with all additional null that subtly floated up and down. Resulting in definitely a lot of keyframes, which were very fun to animate.
